Inner Breath, Outer Reaches
With Grant Hutchinson

Saturday, March 3rd, 17th & 31st
1:30-3:30pm
Kula Oakville

Join Grant over three Saturday afternoon sessions to explore the concepts of prana and apana; the complementary opposites of grounding, rooted stability and expansive creativity and vision.  In recognizing these patterns as they arise naturally in our own breath cycles, we can begin to connect to them in the movements of our bodies and eventually in our daily lives.  We will use asana postures and pranayama breathing practices to create the space to re-imagine ourselves on a moment by moment basis, waking up to our lives and making room for the transformation that the Spring ushers in.

YEM™: Yoga as Energy Medicine
With Parvati Devi

Saturday, March 10, 2012
1:30-4:30pm
Kula Oakville

“Learn to direct consciousness with awareness into areas of the body in need of healing while animating your yoga practice from deep within.”

All matter is made of energy of various densities vibrating at varying rates. Our physical body is a bio-dynamic field that shifts and fluctuates according to our changing states of consciousness. "Yoga" or "union" involves resting in the joining of both matter and consciousness. The practice of yoga asana and meditation cultivates a deepening relationship with both matter and consciousness and nurtures the delightful play (Lila) that exists there.

In this workshop, through mindful-breathing, energy-work and subtle attention to yoga postures, we will explore how to let the body become more receptive to pure consciousness, as well as how to cultivate greater attention to the flow of consciousness through the body. We will learn to direct conscious awareness into areas of the body in need of healing while animating our yoga practice from deep within. Participants will gain greater mastery of their energy system in relation to Yoga practice and healing. This workshop will provide material that is applicable to each person's unique style of Yoga asana, while offering rooted and expansive vitality in one’s practice and joy of being.

All levels of yoga practitioners welcome.
